Clinical mentors are one of the Provider Support Team (PST) that provide support to providers after post training to ensure the providers are adhering to the training standards for provide quality of care. The clinical mentors that were accredited by Family Welfare Division (FWD) to provide clinical mentoring on safe abortion service to Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) working in the basic health care facilities were provided one day orientation in close collaboration with FWD on January 5, 2024.
One-day orientation consisted of the update on clinical coaching tools and providing programmatic support through facility assessment to ensure continued Medical Abortion (MA) service readiness. The clinical mentors were oriented on the importance of collaboration with Health Facility Operation Management Committee (HFOMC) to provide quality MA service.
The Clinical mentors after the orientation will provide both clinical mentoring and programmatic support to 70 basic health facilities spread across seven districts viz: Accham, Bajura, Doti, Dadeldhura, Rolpa, Argakhachi and Palpa. The one-day orientation was facilitated by the team of Ipas nepal (Ms. Kritee Lamichhane, Ms. Sipra Joshi and Dr. Deeb Shrestha Dangol).
