OUR APPROACH

Founded in 1973, Ipas is a pioneering global health and rights organization of multidisciplinary experts, focused on amplifying, safeguarding, and advancing sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and safe abortion access.
Ipas Nepal was established in 2002 and has worked to enhance access to safe abortion and contraception so that every Nepali woman and girl can determine her own future. Ipas Nepal maintained a focus on creating a sustainable abortion ecosystem, and also working on contraception.
Ipas Nepal started to strengthen work on the intersectionality of SRHR with climate justice, gender-based violence, youth, and humanitarian crises so as to have a more ‘holistic approach’ for SRHR through Sustainable SRHR ecosystem.

Perspectives from our participants
“Youth and Adolescents Program for Sex and Reproductive Health Education organized by Ipas Nepal helped me to understand more about safe abortion, proper menstrual health and hygiene, gender-based violence and safe motherhood. Furthermore, I was able to teach and share my learnings among my family, sisters, neighborhood, mother groups, children clubs, adolescent girls’ groups and men group.” – Shrijana Mizar, youth
