Ipas Nepal provides technical support to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to initiate and expand Safe Abortion Services (SAS) as well as expand contraception and protection of individuals’ rights to bodily autonomy and reproductive health decisions.

Nirmala Bhandari is an experienced professional with an M.A. in Food and Nutrition, a master’s in health and education, and a nursing academic background. With over 19 years of experience, she has worked in programs related to SSexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), Safe Motherhood Program (MNCH), GESI, Adolescent Health & Nutrition, and WASH(AHNWASH), STI and HIV/AIDS management program as well as Family Planning and Safe Abortion Services (SAS) as a certified service provider and counselor from NHTC.
Nirmala has worked to ensure the quality of the activities, advocating with local governments for funding and linking the government grants with marginalized communities and also supporting to development of GESI & Health policy, Health & Nutrition Contingency plan and advocating to institutionalizing the developed guidelines, and protocol, at local level.
She is passionate about traveling, finding the root cause of problems, and collecting case stories.
