Ipas Nepal provides technical support to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to initiate and expand Safe Abortion Services (SAS) as well as expand contraception and protection of individuals’ rights to bodily autonomy and reproductive health decisions.

Jagadishwor Ghimire leads Ipas Nepal’s work to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), bringing more than 20 years of experience in health systems strengthening, public health, and development programming. Since joining Ipas Nepal in 2020 and later assuming leadership of the country program, he has guided the design and implementation of initiatives that strengthen health systems, expand access to quality care, and advance reproductive justice and health equity.
Under his leadership, Ipas Nepal has strengthened its work in safe abortion and contraception, gender-based violence prevention and response, climate-resilient health systems, humanitarian response, and community-led solutions. Since January 2025, he has also served as a member of the Ipas Network Leadership Group.
Jagadishwor brings expertise in strategic planning, program management, partnership building, organizational leadership, and financial stewardship. He holds an MPhil in Population Studies, a Master’s degree in Public Health, and a Master’s degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and is recognized for his contributions to SRHR, climate-resilient health systems, and maternal, newborn, and child health in Nepal. His work is driven by a commitment to locally led solutions, shared leadership, and improving health outcomes for underserved populations.
